Biography
Vanessa Jayne
was born in 1968 in Kent. She worked as a designer for a major
textile company for 10 years, and now combines her design
background with her painting.
1997
Exhibited at the Wildlife Art Society Annual Show, Westminster
Halls and collected three awards:-
- The Alan M Hunt Award
- The Washington Green Award
- The Evegate Award (for the second time)
Work bought by news reader, Jan Leeming.
Chosen to exhibit at the prestigious Halcyon Gallery, Birmingham.
1998
Sold work at Southerby's auction, London.
Exhibitions in Washington DC, Holland and The Beverley Minster,
Yorkshire.
1999
Exhibitions in the USA and Holland.
Launch of first limited edition print.
Various magazine articles.
2000
Work commissioned by Gibsons Greeting Card International.
Signed contracts with large publisher, Wild Apple Graphics
in USA.
Exhibitions in England and Holland.
First solo exhibition.
2001
Various images licensed by Ashdened of Australia for use as
table mats, mugs, surface savers and wallcoverings.
6 images chosen for a calendar for an American publisher.
Work bought by Virginia McKenna.
2002
Launch of a new pair of limited edition prints.
Invited to become a member of The Society of Women Artists.
Exhibitions in France and Holland.
2003
Finalist in the Not The Turner Award, run by the Daily Mail.
New calendar being launched for 2004 in America, using exclusively
Vanessa's work.
Signed contracts to produce more giftware for America.
2005 / 2006
Worked on numerous portrait pieces commissioned for private
collections.
Various shows around UK.
2007
Saw the birth of my second son.
2008
I launched my new range of prints and cards.
